23 Filipinos die of COVID-19 in Dubai

As of Friday, May 8, 2020, 23 Filipinos have died from COVID-19 in Dubai, UAE, according to Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes.

This number is an increase from the 21 deaths reported on Wednesday and 17 reported two days prior.

Cortes noted that many recoveries are also being recorded but did not provide specific numbers.

The embassy has extended cash assistance to displaced Filipino workers, with around 1,500 expressing interest in returning to the Philippines.
