DFA welcomes home 16 stranded seafarers from China

On Tuesday, September 29, the Department of Foreign Affairs welcomed home 16 Filipino seafarers and three land-based OFWs from China who had been stranded since March and July due to China's no disembarkation policy.

The DFA arranged a chartered flight for their return despite travel restrictions imposed by China.

Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Sarah Lou Arriola emphasized the government's commitment to prioritizing the welfare of Filipino workers abroad, both on land and at sea.
