8 new Covid-19 cases in Soccsksargen, 2 minors among them

Eight new coronavirus cases were reported in Region 12 (Soccsksargen) as of Monday, August 17, bringing the total number to 359.

Two children aged 4 and 6 from Cotabato City are among the new cases, triggered by their exposure to another patient.

Nine recoveries were also reported on Monday, raising the recovery rate to 68 percent.

South Cotabato has the highest number of confirmed cases at 82, followed by Sarangani (72), Sultan Kudarat (70), North Cotabato (50), and General Santos City (49).

On Saturday, August 15, ten new cases were reported in Soccsksargen, including two health workers from the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center.

Four teachers from Sultan Kudarat province also tested positive after being exposed to a teacher who died of the disease on Tuesday.
