Zamboanga del Sur clears last COVID-19 patient

Zamboanga del Sur has officially cleared its last remaining patient of the coronavirus disease, a seven-year-old boy from Dumalinao town.

The boy's second confirmatory test result came back negative, as did the results for his mother.

He was discharged from the Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center on Tuesday morning, but will still undergo a 14-day home quarantine.

This marks the third and final confirmed COVID-19 case in the province to recover.

Despite all confirmed patients being cleared, COVID-19 Task Force Zamboanga del Sur spokesperson Dr. Robert Capatoy stated that the province is not yet COVID-19 free, as there are still persons under monitoring and investigation in hospitals.

He urged residents to stay in their homes.
