DOH Caraga: 3 PUIs test negative for COVID-19

The Department of Health in Caraga Region (DOH-13) announced that three patients under investigation (PUIs) for COVID-19 have tested negative.

These negative results came from a 39-year-old male admitted at Adela Serra Ty Memorial Medical Center, a 51-year-old male from Agusan del Sur, and a 37-year-old female from Butuan City.

DOH-13 stated that they are still awaiting other pending lab results and are hopeful for favorable outcomes.

The agency also confirmed that the DOH Caraga Hospital Compliance Monitoring Team (HCMT) is continuously assessing the capability of Level 2 hospitals in the region to manage COVID-19 patients.

Several public and private hospitals have been identified and accredited to handle infectious cases, ensuring they have the necessary equipment like isolation beds and mechanical ventilators.

The DOH-13 emphasized that accredited hospitals like Caraga Regional Hospital and Adela Serra Ty Memorial Medical Center should not refuse patients.

Additionally, the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) has implemented a Regional Contingency Plan to manage a potential surge in cases.

DOH-13 assured the public that they are communicating with health facilities and providing necessary assistance.
