Volleyball stars auction jerseys for PPE donations

Volleyball star Jia Morado is auctioning off jerseys to raise funds for personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontliners in the Philippines battling the coronavirus.

Former La Salle ace Ara Galang, UAAP volleyball stars Eya Laure, Imee Hernandez, Maji Mangulabnan, Det Pepito, and Janna Torres have joined the cause by donating their jerseys.

Volleyball insider Mac Dionisio also donated his collectible jersey of the UAAP Season 75 MVP.

The highest bidder will be able to collect all 5 jerseys donated by Laure and her former UST teammates.

The bidding for Morado's jersey, worn during her final playing year with Ateneo, started at P1,200 with P100 increments.

As of Saturday, March 28, 10:15 pm, Morado and her partner Miguel de Guzman have raised P236,635.31.

The funds raised will be used to purchase 100 PPE coverall gowns, 1,000 N95 masks, and 1,000 pairs of surgical gloves for donation to Jose R Reyes Memorial Medical Center and Philippine General Hospital.
