Vico Sotto implements granular lockdowns in 37 areas due to COVID-19 surge

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto has implemented granular lockdowns in 37 specific areas across 19 villages from March 19 until April 1, 2021, due to a surge in COVID-19 cases and the detection of new variants.

The localized lockdowns are a preventive measure to control the spread of the virus within these identified communities.

CESU data shows a 262.03 percent increase in the city's total cases over the past two weeks, with 782 active infections as of March 17, the most in Pinagbuhatan with 82 cases.

Under Executive Order No. PCG-18, residents can still go to their workplaces if they are authorized persons outside residence (APOR) or in emergency situations.

Barangay and police authorities will be stricter in these areas, with visitors and non-APOR residents not allowed to leave their homes.

The lifting of the lockdown will depend on the observation of the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU).
