Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has ordered a four-day localized lockdown in six specific barangays from March 17 to March 20 due to a surge in COVID-19 cases.

The affected barangays are Brgy. 185 (11 active cases), Brgy. 374 (10 active cases), Brgy. 521 (12 active cases), Brgy. 628 (10 active cases), Brgy. 675 (22 active cases), and Brgy. 847 (10 active cases).

The lockdown, effective from 12:01 a.m. Wednesday to 11:59 p.m. Saturday, aims to facilitate disease surveillance, contact tracing, and risk assessment.

These areas will be called "Critical Zones" and will observe Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) measures.

Previously, Mayor Moreno had also directed city government departments to limit physical reporting to 30% of personnel, except for essential services.
