Vaccine hesitancy drops, Malacañang says pandemic response on track

Malacañang stated that a significant decrease in COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy indicates the government's pandemic response is on the right track towards restoring normalcy.

A recent OCTA Research survey from December 2021 revealed that only 5 percent of adult Filipinos are hesitant to get vaccinated, a sharp drop from 22 percent in September 2021.

The same survey also found that only 2 percent of fully vaccinated adult Filipinos contracted COVID-19, highlighting the vaccines' effectiveness.

Acting presidential spokesperson Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles asserted that vaccines protect individuals, their loved ones, and communities from the virus.

Nograles emphasized that vaccination is crucial for achieving normalcy and assured that the government will continue to enhance vaccine accessibility through initiatives like the Resbakuna sa Botika Drive and We Vax as One Mobile Vaccination Drive.

The Philippines has administered over 125 million vaccine doses, with more than 58 million Filipinos fully vaccinated and over 6.8 million receiving booster shots.

The government aims to inoculate 90 million Filipinos by the end of President Rodrigo Duterte's term.
