UST Growling Tigresses rout UE Lady Warriors for third straight win

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigresses secured their third consecutive win in the UAAP Season 88 women's basketball tournament by decisively defeating the University of the East (UE) Lady Warriors with a score of 99-42.

UST established dominance early, scoring 25 points in the first quarter while limiting UE to just five.

Coach Haydee Ong highlighted the team's adherence to their game plan, emphasizing the importance of individual and team defense to keep opponents below their average scoring.

Key contributors for UST included Nigerian center Oma Onianwa with 17 points and six rebounds, Kent Pastrana with 13 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals, Breana Pineda with 13 points, and Karylle Sierba with 11 points.

The UE Lady Warriors remain winless, falling to 0-3 for the season and extending their overall losing streak to 13 games dating back to Season 87.
