NU Lady Bulldogs bag second straight win in UAAP Season 88

The National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs secured their second straight win in the UAAP Season 88 women's basketball tournament by defeating Adamson University, 69-51.

Ann Pingol and Tin Cayabyab led the offensive charge for NU, establishing a commanding 43-23 lead by halftime.

The victory places NU in solo third place with a 3-1 record halfway through the first round of the tournament.

NU head coach DA Olan noted that the team has significant room for improvement, particularly in rebounding, where they were outrebounded by Adamson, 56-43.

Adamson University's Elaine Etang and Kem Adeshina attempted to narrow the deficit in the third quarter, trimming the gap to 50-37, but Marga Villanueva's back-to-back triples restored NU's lead to 56-37.

Aloha Betanio, Marylene Solis, and Cayabyab sealed the win with three consecutive three-pointers in the fourth quarter.

Pingol led NU with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists, while Cayabyab added 13 points and Villanueva chipped in 11.
