UP Maroons aim for twice-to-beat advantage against Ateneo Blue Eagles

The University of the Philippines (UP) Maroons are set to face the Ateneo Blue Eagles in a crucial UAAP Season 88 men's basketball game, aiming to secure a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four.

This 'Battle of Katipunan' is part of the final week of the elimination round, with the UP vs. Ateneo game scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The UP Maroons have won five straight games against Ateneo, including an 83-69 victory in the first round.

National University (NU) and UP have already clinched Final Four berths, while Ateneo, La Salle, Adamson, and Far Eastern University are competing for the remaining semifinal spots.

The Ateneo Blue Eagles sit fifth with a 5-6 record, a game behind La Salle (6-5) in the race for the final Final Four berth.

Adamson University, with a 5-7 record, is also mathematically still in contention but faces elimination with another loss.
