De La Salle Green Archers snap losing streak, boost Final Four hopes

The De La Salle Green Archers snapped a three-game losing streak with a crucial 87-82 victory against the UP Fighting Maroons, improving their UAAP Season 88 Final Four hopes.

They overcame a 16-point deficit to improve their record to 7-6, solidifying their hold on the fourth spot in the standings.

Key players Mike Phillips (21 points, 14 rebounds), Vhoris Marasigan (17 points), Earl Abadam (14 points), and Jacob Cortez (14 points) were instrumental in the win.

Cortez, Marasigan, and Abadam fueled a critical 9-0 run in the fourth quarter that erased a deficit and secured the lead.

UP, the defending champions, finished the elimination round at 10-4 and are guaranteed a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four.

La Salle, which welcomed Mason Amos back from an MCL injury in the first round, now holds its own fate amid a logjam featuring Adamson (6-7), Far Eastern U (6-7) and Ateneo (5-7).

Despite the win, La Salle still faces adversity, including season-ending MCL injuries to Kean Baclaan.

The Green Archers still have one game left against rival Ateneo Blue Eagles, who are also vying for a Final Four spot.
