UP Maroons end skid, beat Adamson in five sets

The University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons defeated the Adamson University Lady Falcons in a five-set match, 25-15, 15-25, 24-26, 25-22, 15-10, ending a three-game slide.

This victory improved UP's record to 3-4, while Adamson dropped to 2-5.

Despite a women's volleyball record 38-point performance by Adamson's Shaina Nitura, UP's teamwork secured the win.

Nitura's output erased the previous UAAP women's record of 35 points previously held by Alyssa Valdez and Sisi Rondina.

Irah Jaboneta was a key player for UP in the fifth set, scoring 7 of her 19 points in the pivotal rally.

Niña Ytang contributed a team-high 20 points for UP, including crucial blocks and attacks.

Both Jaboneta and Joan Monares achieved triple-doubles with double-digit digs and excellent receptions, with Monares scoring 15 points.

UP head coach Benson Bocboc highlighted the team's collective effort as crucial in outplaying Nitura's individual brilliance.
