UE Red Warriors eliminated from UAAP Final Four after loss to Ateneo

The University of the East (UE) Red Warriors suffered a close 78-74 loss to Ateneo de Manila University, officially ending their UAAP Season 88 Final Four hopes.

Despite the loss, UE captain John Abate expressed his delight over the return of teammate Wello Lingolingo, who had been serving a three-game suspension.

Lingolingo made an immediate impact in his return, scoring 19 points, along with five rebounds and four assists.

Abate also contributed significantly with 18 points, six assists, and four rebounds.

Lingolingo's suspension was due to an incident in a previous game against La Salle where he accidentally injured Kean Baclaan of La Salle.

Both Lingolingo and Baclaan have since reconciled.

During his suspension, Lingolingo continued to contribute to the team by mentoring younger players and assisting the scouting team.
