Typhoon Quinta makes third landfall over Quezon

Typhoon Quinta made its third landfall over San Andres, Quezon province late Sunday night and was still over the Mindoro Strait as of Monday morning.

Signal No. 3 is currently raised over northwestern Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Island, while Signal No. 2 is up over Oriental Mindoro, the rest of Occidental Mindoro, Calamian Islands, Batangas, and northern Antique.

Metro Manila and 18 other areas are under Signal No. 1, including Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, northern Palawan, and parts of Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Bataan, Aklan, and Antique.

Moderate to heavy with, at times, intense rains are expected over Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Marinduque, northern Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo Islands, CALABARZON, Aurora, Isabela, Quirino, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Aklan, Capiz, and Antique.

Quinta is expected to maintain its typhoon strength throughout its passage over Southern Luzon and may further intensify once it re-emerges over the West Philippine Sea by Monday afternoon.

The typhoon is expected to traverse Southern Luzon until Monday afternoon and may exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday afternoon.
