Typhoon Quinta displaces nearly 700 in Negros Occidental

Typhoon Quinta caused torrential rains that led to floods and landslides, displacing 687 individuals or 96 families in four areas of Negros Occidental.

In Isabela town, 118 families were evacuated due to rising floodwaters, with some residents stranded for three hours in low-lying barangays.

Moises Padilla reported 46 families seeking shelter after a flashflood hit the stockyard of Barangay 1.

Hinoba-an town evacuated 50 families to safer locations such as barangay halls and covered courts due to flooding in several barangays.

Floodwaters damaged three bridges in Hinobaan and Sipalay City.

A landslide was also reported in Barangay San Jose, Sipalay.
