Typhoon Odette moves toward Kalayaan Islands

Typhoon Odette, internationally named "Rai," has maintained its strength while moving towards the Kalayaan Islands at 15 kph.

As of Saturday morning, its eye was located 240 kilometers west-northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, with maximum sustained winds of 150 kph and gustiness of up to 185 kph.

The typhoon made previous landfalls in Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte; Dinagat Islands; Southern Leyte; Bohol; Cebu; and Negros Oriental.

PAGASA forecasts that Odette will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility this morning or afternoon.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal Number 3 remains hoisted over the Kalayaan Islands, signaling possible destructive typhoon-force winds.

TCWS No. 2 is raised in the central portion of Palawan, signaling damaging gale to storm-force winds within 24 hours.

TCWS No. 1 is raised over the rest of mainland Palawan, including the Calamian Islands due to strong winds expected within 36 hours.
