Two employees of JRB Travel and Consultancy Services Inc., Rosalie Bolaños and Javie Nobleta, were arrested for posing as Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) personnel.
They allegedly extorted money from families of former Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) workers by promising to remove their relatives from deportation lists.
The suspects were apprehended in an entrapment operation by the PAOCC, CIDG, and the AFP.
Victims reportedly paid sums ranging from PHP900,000 to PHP1.1 million for the release and removal from blacklists of detained foreign nationals.
The suspects also offered fraudulent government documents, including birth certificates, marriage certificates, passports, and driver's licenses, to foreign nationals.
PAOCC Executive Director Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz clarified that while these documents were genuinely issued by government agencies, they contain questionable identities, with foreign nationals bearing Filipino names.
