TS KristinePH causes widespread flooding in Naga City, Albay

Naga City in Camarines Sur is experiencing widespread flooding due to Tropical Storm KristinePH, with some areas inundated up to the roofs of houses.

Mayor Nelson Legacion has appealed for motorized boats, citing difficulties in accessing heavily flooded villages such as Tinago, Dayangdang, Triangulo, Lerma, Mabolo, Sabang, and Tabuco.

Many residents were trapped in their homes overnight, spending Tuesday night on their roofs while waiting for rescue.

Rescue operations were temporarily halted in some areas of Albay, including Libon and Polangui towns, on Tuesday night due to severe flooding and landslides, with disaster management personnel also becoming stranded.

The Philippine Coast Guard has been tapped to assist residents in specific barangays in Albay.

Several villages in Albay have become isolated due to overflowing spillways and impassable roads.

Former Vice President Leni Robredo had also previously appealed for pump boats, as many rescue trucks became inoperable due to the flooding.
