Marcos releases P80-M cash aid to Albay, Naga City
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. distributed P80 million in cash aid to Albay province and Naga City to assist residents impacted by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
The Office of the President released P50 million to Albay and P30 million to Naga City.
In Naga City, approximately 35,850 families or 161,329 individuals were affected by flooding.
Albay reported 571 houses destroyed and 3,203 damaged by the storm, with an additional 20 houses damaged by a landslide in Libon.
The DSWD is delivering 35,000 food packs to Naga City, with a portion of these being delivered on Saturday.
Acting Albay Governor Glenda Ong-Bongao stated that 92,000 families in her province were affected and needed food aid.
President Marcos also assured that the government would continue to provide for the immediate needs of displaced residents and will be providing additional medical manpower in the Bicol Region.
