TS Kristine maintains strength; heavy rainfall warnings up for Luzon

Tropical Storm Kristine maintained its strength over the waters of Aurora, prompting Pagasa to issue heavy rainfall warnings for many parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 is raised over Metro Manila and 30 other areas in Luzon.

Intense to torrential rainfall is expected in Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte.

Heavy to intense rainfall will affect Camarines Sur, the rest of Cagayan Valley, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and the Ilocos region.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast for Metro Manila, the rest of Central Luzon, the rest of Calabarzon, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Calamian Islands, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Northern Samar.

Pagasa warned of possible storm surges and rough seas in parts of Northern, Central and Southern Luzon and the Bicol region.

Flooding and landslides are likely in susceptible areas, especially those with significant antecedent rainfall.
