Severe Tropical Storm Kristine triggers yellow rainfall warning in Zambales, Bataan

Zambales and Bataan are under a yellow rainfall warning due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, with expected rainfall of 7.5 mm to 15 mm and a possibility of flooding.

Kristine, with maximum winds of 95 kph and gusts of 115 kph, is located 255 kilometers west-northwest of Bacnotan, La Union.

The storm is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility by Friday afternoon or evening.

Metro Manila, Cavite, and Rizal are expected to experience light to moderate rains within the next three hours.

Light to moderate rains, with occasional heavy rains, may persist for three hours in Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija.

A minimal to moderate risk of storm surge is warned for the next 48 hours in low-lying or coastal areas of Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, and Zambales.

A gale warning has been issued for the seaboard of Luzon and the western seaboard of Visayas.
