Tropical Depression Nika enters PAR, may bring rain to Luzon

A low pressure area (LPA) that entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 2 a.m. Saturday, November 9, has developed into Tropical Depression Nika, the 14th tropical cyclone to enter the PAR this year.

As of 8 a.m. Saturday, Nika was located 1,255 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon.

However, Nika may bring scattered rain to Bicol, Quezon, and Aurora by Sunday, November 10.

The tropical depression is also forecast to bring rain to most of Northern Luzon and Southern Luzon on Monday and Tuesday, November 11 and 12.

Pagasa is monitoring another LPA, tagged "11c", which is outside PAR and has a medium chance of gaining strength in the coming days.
