Transport groups back PTMP, refuse to join MANIBELA strike

Several transport groups, including Pasang Masda, ALTODAP, Busina, ACTO, and CURODA, gathered at the LTFRB office in Quezon City to express their strong support for the Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP).

These groups affirmed their commitment to continue serving the public under the PTMP and stated they would not participate in the transport strike organized by MANIBELA.

Pasang Masda President Obet Martin emphasized that they are not stopping their operations and believe issues with the PTMP should be resolved rather than halting the program, noting that commuters are fed up with strikes.

The transport organizations showcased their modernized vehicles as a visible demonstration of their backing for the program.

MANIBELA alleged that the LTFRB misrepresented consolidation figures, leading to non-renewal of provisional authorities.

LTFRB spokesperson Atty. Ariel Inton clarified that the 86% figure refers to the total number of applications filed for consolidation, showing intent to consolidate.
