Transpo Sec Bautista resigns for health reasons

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin clarified that Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista resigned due to health reasons and not because President Marcos Jr. was dissatisfied with his performance.

Bersamin stated that Bautista had discussed his health condition at length with the President, who was understanding and supportive of Bautista's need to rest.

Bautista requested to stay in his position until February 21.

Malacañang has already announced that Vince Dizon will succeed Bautista as the head of the Department of Transportation.

Bersamin declined to comment on rumors about potential replacements for two other Cabinet officials.
