TNT takes 2-0 series lead despite Hollis-Jefferson, Castro exits

TNT Tropang Giga secured a 93-91 victory in Game 2, taking a commanding 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven PBA Commissioner's Cup semifinals series against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

The win was achieved despite the crucial fourth-quarter exits of TNT import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson due to fouling out and Jayson Castro due to an apparent knee injury.

Hollis-Jefferson contributed 28 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals before fouling out with over five minutes remaining.

Castro added 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists before he was stretchered out of the venue on the way to the hospital after a layup attempt with three minutes to play.

Without their key players, TNT went scoreless in the last 6:22 minutes, allowing Rain or Shine to mount an 11-0 run.

Despite the comeback, TNT relied on their defense to secure the win, preventing Rain or Shine from scoring in the final 2:30 minutes.

Rain or Shine, led by import Deon Thompson's 22 points and 14 rebounds and Adrian Nocum's 19 points, could not overcome TNT's defense in the final moments.
