TNT Tropang Giga avoids elimination, forces Game 3 vs Magnolia

TNT Tropang Giga avoided elimination in the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals by defeating Magnolia, 89-88, forcing a rubber match and keeping their Grand Slam bid alive.

Head coach Chot Reyes delivered a tongue-lashing to his team before their do-or-die game, which fueled their drive to stay in the hunt for a grand slam.

Roger Pogoy led TNT with a game-high 30 points, stating his mindset was not to lose and to avoid going on vacation yet.

Kelly Williams hit the game-winning free throws with six seconds left, and crucial three-pointers were also made by Williams and Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser in the final moments.

Magnolia managed to tie the game late after trailing by seven points, with Paul Lee, Zavier Lucero, and William Navarro contributing.

TNT prevented Zavier Lucero from converting a last-second jumper to secure the victory.

The decisive Game 3 will be held on Saturday, June 21, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
