TNT Tropang Giga wins Game 1 vs Rain or Shine

The TNT Tropang Giga defeated the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters 98-91 in Game 1 of their PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup semifinals series.

Roger Pogoy led TNT with a game-high 28 points, including crucial fourth-quarter scoring that helped the Tropang Giga pull away.

Pogoy was also recently honored as the PBA's newest 5,000-point club member.

Poy Erram, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, and Calvin Oftana recorded double-doubles, with Simon Enciso also scoring in double digits, supporting TNT's offense.

Rain or Shine's Andrei Caracut acknowledged Pogoy's unstoppable scoring in the crucial moments but stated his team would make adjustments for Game 2.

Despite his individual performance, Pogoy emphasized the importance of a collective effort from TNT to win the series.

Rain or Shine's coach Yeng Guiao was ejected from the game after receiving two technical fouls.

TNT, aiming for a historic Grand Slam, will seek a 2-0 lead in Game 2 at Ninoy Aquino Stadium, facing a Rain or Shine team that notably upset NLEX in the quarterfinals with key players Jhonard Clarito and Mike Malonzo.
