Third Filipino seafarer's remains to arrive Saturday evening

The remains of a third Filipino seafarer killed in the MV Eternity C incident due to a Houthi rebel attack in the Red Sea are expected to arrive in the Philippines on Saturday evening.

Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Foreign Employment and Welfare Services Undersecretary Felicitas Bay confirmed the development.

The deceased was among three Filipinos reported killed in the July 7 attack on the Greek-operated and Liberia-flagged cargo ship.

The Houthis released the Eternity C crew members, including nine Filipino seafarers, on Monday after they were held hostage for over five months.

The body was supposed to be transported along with the nine Filipinos who returned to the Philippines on Thursday evening.

The remains of two other Filipino fatalities were transported earlier.
