Teves' legal team asks to postpone hearings due to recovery

Former Negros Oriental Representative Arnolfo Teves Jr.'s legal team is seeking to defer all his scheduled court hearings due to his ongoing recovery from an appendectomy.

Teves' lawyer, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, reported a slight improvement in his condition, noting that Teves can now consume soft food orally and experiences less pain, though it remains persistent.

Teves is slowly regaining his strength and remains under round-the-clock monitoring, receiving intravenous medication.

He was admitted to the Philippine General Hospital for stomach pains before undergoing the appendectomy, where he experienced significant complications and high pain levels.

Teves faces multiple murder, frustrated murder, and attempted murder charges, allegedly stemming from his masterminding the killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.

He also faces a charge for illegal possession of firearms and explosives before a Manila court.
