Teves 'experienced complications' after surgery, lawyer says
Detained former Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr. is recuperating at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) after undergoing an appendectomy.
His lawyer, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, confirmed Teves experienced post-operative complications that necessitated additional medical procedures.
Teves had been hospitalized for severe stomach pains prior to the operation.
He is facing murder charges for the killing of Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo and several others in 2023.
Topacio thanked UP Manila Chancellor Michael Tee for assisting Teves' transfer to PGH and expressed appreciation to his doctor and the medical team.
