TD Pepito causes widespread flooding in Quezon, Cotabato

Tropical Depression Pepito has caused widespread flooding in various parts of Quezon and Cotabato.

In Quezon, towns like Gumaca, Lopez, and Guinayangan experienced chest-deep floods, with some barangays seeing floodwaters in houses.

Gumaca's mayor dispatched heavy equipment to clear waterways clogged by waste materials, which contributed to the flooding.

Lopez reported inundated main roads causing traffic, and residents in some barangays had to use boats.

A road in Guinayangan collapsed, while streets in other barangays were also flooded.

In Cotabato, rivers overflowed in President Roxas and Magpet, submerging houses and sweeping away farm animals.

Pikit, Cotabato had 15,000 residents evacuated from over 30 flooded barangays.

Additionally, around 2,500 residents in Kabacan, Cotabato were housed in evacuation centers.
