TD Crising intensifies, may make landfall in Cagayan by Friday

Tropical Depression Crising has intensified and is moving west-southwest over the sea east of Catanduanes, with sustained winds of 45 kph and gusts of up to 55 kph.

It is forecast to intensify into a tropical storm by Thursday morning and a severe tropical storm by Friday afternoon or evening.

Crising may make landfall or pass very close to mainland Cagayan or Babuyan Islands late Friday or early Saturday.

Tropical cyclone wind signal No. 1 may be raised over parts of Cagayan Valley starting Wednesday night or early Thursday.

PAGASA warns that a new tropical cyclone or low-pressure area could develop within the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the coming days.

Crising will enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing significant rainfall to Central and Southern Luzon including Metro Manila, Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula, with heavy rains expected over Northern Luzon on Friday and Saturday.
