TD Butchoy exits PAR, Carina may become typhoon by Tuesday

As of Saturday morning, Butchoy was last located 565 km west of Iba, Zambales with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

Butchoy might strengthen into a tropical storm by Sunday before weakening after making landfall in China on Monday evening.

Tropical Depression Carina is forecast to intensify into a tropical storm within 12 to 24 hours and may reach typhoon category by Tuesday.

The enhanced southwest monsoon will bring gusty conditions over exposed areas, especially in coastal and upland areas.
