Taguig preps 4 mega, 40 community vax sites

Taguig City is preparing four mega-quarantine vaccination centers and 40 community vaccination centers for the upcoming Covid-19 vaccination program.

Mayor Lino Cayetano announced that the Lakeshore complex is one of the designated mega-quarantine vaccination sites.

A dry-run will be conducted in these facilities in the presence of representatives from the Inter-Agency Task Force and other relevant agencies.

Forty schools are being prepared to serve as community vaccination centers to ensure logistical readiness for the vaccine rollout.

The local government has partnered with Orca Cold Chain Solutions Inc. to ensure the proper storage and temperature control of vaccines at their 6,500-square-meter facility in Barangay Bagumbayan.

Taguig City has also signed a tripartite agreement with AstraZeneca for vaccine purchase, which is separate from the vaccines to be provided by the national government.

The vaccines will be allocated first to health frontliners, then to other frontliners, and finally to the vulnerable sector, including senior citizens.
