Taguig City lauded as model city for COVID-19 response

Taguig City was lauded as a "model city" for its response against the COVID-19 pandemic by vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.

Galvez highlighted Taguig's proactive strategies, including being one of the first cities in Metro Manila to establish a drive-thru Covid-19 testing facility.

The city demonstrates a low number of active cases, with only five cases per 100,000 residents, indicating success in containing and mitigating the virus's spread.

Mayor Lino Cayetano attributed this success to the local government strictly enforcing health measures and quarantine protocols, listening to experts, and working closely with the national government.

Taguig City is now preparing for the arrival of COVID-19 vaccines and will hold public health information campaigns to educate residents about vaccine effectiveness.
