Taal eruption strands hundreds of hotel guests in Tagaytay

Hundreds of hotel guests in Tagaytay City remained stranded due to heavy ashfall from the Taal Volcano eruption, which made roads slippery and impassable.

Guests at Tagaytay Midlands Hotel and Taal Vista Hotel were forced to sleep in various areas of the building or were unable to secure transportation.

Employees were on duty to assist stranded individuals who were reportedly in need of masks due to a shortage of protective gear.

Some hotels near towns hard-hit by the eruption were already fully occupied as affected residents preferred to evacuate there.

People had to travel as far as 25 kilometers as some hotels and inns in areas near the affected Agoncillo and Talisay towns could no longer accommodate guests.

Businesses in areas like Lipa, Cuenca, Alitagtag, and Sta. Teresita, including hotels, remained in operation despite the volcano's continuous activity.
