SUV crash injures 6 in Manila

Six individuals sustained minor injuries in Manila after an SUV crashed into a pedicab, triggering a chain reaction that involved two other vehicles.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Onyx Street and 1st Street in Barangay 813, Paco, Manila, on Saturday afternoon.

The SUV driver, Jeffrey Joseph David, 42, lost control of the vehicle after reportedly suffering a stroke.

The impact caused the pedicab to tilt, injuring the driver Larry Lausing, 51, and his passengers Rosario Acompaniado, 67, and Corason Castillobatrios, 79.

The SUV then spun counterclockwise, hitting trees and two parked vehicles before hitting the pedicab.

David, his mother Senthia Di Tan, 72, and another relative John Patrick David, 35, were also injured and hospitalized.

Authorities are investigating the incident as a case of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries and damage to property.
