Super Typhoon Uwan triggers landslides, floods across Bicol, blocks 113 roads

Super Typhoon "Uwan" caused widespread landslides and floods across the Bicol region, rendering several roads impassable.

In Baras town, thick mud blocked roads in villages like Moning, Batolinao, and Puraran.

Local officials in Pandan town evacuated families trapped by strong winds and heavy rains.

Waist-deep floods submerged Burabod village in Sorsogon City, and significant flooding occurred in Naga City, Camarines Sur.

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Bicol reported 167 villages still flooded and 113 roads blocked by debris, fallen trees, and landslides.

While some main roads in Nabua town and Iriga City are now passable, streets within villages remain flooded.

Clearing operations are underway in various towns, including Polangui and Guinobatan, where volcanic debris from Mayon Volcano's slopes has also affected areas.
