Super Typhoon Pepito brings heavy rainfall to multiple provinces

Super Typhoon Pepito is forecast to bring intense to torrential rainfall, exceeding 200 millimeters, to Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Quezon, Aurora, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Nueva Ecija, and Pangasinan from Saturday evening to Sunday evening.

Heavy to intense rainfall, between 100 to 200 mm, is expected in La Union, Tarlac, Bulacan, Pampanga, Zambales, Rizal, Albay, Sorsogon, and Bataan, with possible landslides and numerous flooding events.

Moderate to heavy rainfall, ranging from 50 to 100 mm, is expected in Northern Samar, Masbate, Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Marinduque, Batangas, Cagayan, Isabela, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Kalinga, Abra, and Ilocos Sur, where localized flooding and landslides are possible.

Pagasa has issued a rainfall warning for Sunday evening to Monday evening, with heavy to intense rains expected in Benguet, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, La Union, and Pangasinan.

Moderate to heavy rains are also forecast for Isabela, Abra, Aurora, Zambales, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ilocos Sur, Quirino, Nueva Ecija, and Tarlac during the same period.

Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas, and impacts could be worsened by significant antecedent rainfall.
