SSS opens calamity loan for Cebu typhoon victims

Eligible members can borrow up to P20,000 with a 7 percent annual interest rate, to be repaid within 24 months through online applications on the My.SSS portal.

Loan proceeds will be directly credited to the members' disbursement accounts upon approval.

As of November 4, 53 cities and towns in Cebu have been placed under a state of calamity, with the typhoon having affected 200,000 families and 700,000 individuals.

The typhoon has resulted in 71 deaths in Cebu.
