Habagat to bring rains across Philippines

The Southwest Monsoon, locally known as Habagat, is expected to bring rains and cloudy skies across the Philippines this Saturday, according to PAGASA.

Occasional rains are forecast for Western Visayas, Cavite, Batangas, Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro.

Metro Manila, Mindanao, Central Luzon, Bicol Region, Pangasinan, the rest of Visayas, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA can anticipate cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

The rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned of potential flash floods or landslides due to the moderate to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

The weather bureau is also monitoring a tropical storm located 1,925 km east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon, moving slowly west northwest with winds of 65 km/h and gusts of up to 80 km/h.

Winds across the archipelago are expected to be light to moderate, resulting in slight to moderate coastal waters.
