SMC spearheads Taal eruption relief efforts with over P23 million in donations

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) is spearheading relief efforts for communities affected by the Taal Volcano eruption, mobilizing resources across its conglomerate to provide assistance.

The company has donated over P23 million in goods, including food, face masks, blankets, sleeping mats, and clothing to thousands of victims in evacuation and affected areas.

SMC's food unit has provided the bulk of food donations, while its employee-led donation drive collected additional necessities like toiletries and clothing.

SMC's feeding centers in Tondo and Batangas have prepared over 6,000 hot meals for beneficiaries in six evacuation centers.

The company's food group also donated over a thousand kilos of animal feeds to PAWS for rescued animals.

SMC Infrastructure is delivering 15,000 five-gallon containers of drinking water, and the San Miguel Foundation is deploying a portable water filtration system.

The San Miguel Foundation is also set to deliver approximately 14,000 packed meals and 20,000 shirts.

SMC Infrastructure is offering toll-free passage on its STAR and South Luzon Expressway for government and private vehicles carrying relief goods, volunteers, or equipment.
