SMC expressways go toll-free for holidays
San Miguel Corporation (SMC) is offering toll-free travel on its expressways during specific hours on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve to help motorists reach their families.
The toll waiver will be in effect from 10:00 PM on December 24 to 6:00 AM on December 25, and again from 10:00 PM on December 31 to 6:00 AM on January 1, 2026.
This initiative covers all SMC-operated expressways, including the Skyway System, NAIA Expressway (NAIAX), South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), STAR Tollway, and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX).
To manage the expected surge in traffic, SMC has heightened security, placed emergency response teams on standby, and suspended roadworks from December 20 until January 4, 2026.
Traffic monitoring centers across its expressways are staffed around the clock to monitor conditions and coordinate with emergency responders.
Motorists are advised to plan their trips in advance, allow extra travel time, and ensure sufficient balance in their Autosweep accounts to avoid delays.
