SMC donates P3.9M fuel for frontliner shuttle services

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) has donated P3.9 million worth of fuel to support the free shuttle services for health workers and other frontliners during the enhanced community quarantine.

The donation, facilitated by Petron Corporation and SMC Infrastructure, benefits the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

The DOTr has deployed 60 shuttle services covering 19 routes daily to aid essential workers.

SMC Infrastructure has allocated 54,000 liters of fuel, with each of the 60 buses receiving 50 liters daily, to be accessed through Petron e-fuel cards.

In addition to fuel, SMC also provided P1.8 million worth of free toll to over 2,000 medical workers using several expressways.

SMC president and COO Ramon Ang expressed admiration for the collective effort in fighting the pandemic and emphasized the importance of mutual support during challenging times.
