It's Showtime contestant visits Comelec after viral gaffe

Heart Aquino, a contestant on "It's Showtime," visited the Commission on Elections (Comelec) headquarters after a viral remark about her lack of knowledge of the agency.

Aquino, who experienced a mental block during the competition, clarified that she has indeed voted in the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) polls.

Comelec chairman George Erwin Garcia invited Aquino for a guided tour, suggesting her situation might reflect a broader lack of awareness among Filipino youth.

Malacañang stated that President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. is not bothered by the incident, viewing it as not necessarily indicative of a failure in the government's education system.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro cited the government's allocation of P700 million for basic child service facilities as an example of efforts to improve education.

Aquino expressed willingness to serve as an influencer or ambassador to promote voter education through her social media presence.
