Classes suspended in Bicol due to rains

Classes were suspended in several areas of Bicol on Tuesday due to continuous rains from the shear line and a low-pressure area.

Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate provinces, along with eight towns in Catanduanes, issued class suspensions at various levels.

In Sorsogon, an Orange rainfall advisory was issued, prompting the suspension of classes from kindergarten to senior high school.

Albay Governor Edcel Greco Lagman canceled classes in public and private schools due to the significant amount of rain brought by the shear line.

In Masbate province, pre-kindergarten to senior high school classes were canceled.

The towns of Viga, Virac, Baras, Bagamanoc, Pandan, Gigmoto, Bato, and San Miguel in Catanduanes also suspended classes at all levels.

Approximately 190 families in Masbate are currently in evacuation centers due to floods caused by the heavy rains.
