Classes, work suspended in PH due to weather, strike, quake

Classes and work were suspended in various locations across the Philippines on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, due to inclement weather, a transport strike, and an earthquake.

Face-to-face classes were suspended in Albay, Angeles City, Bamban in Tarlac, Pampanga, and Calumpit and Malolos City in Bulacan, with online or modular classes offered as alternatives.

Several areas, including Calbayog City in Samar, General Santos City in South Cotabato, Northern Samar, Sarangani, and Trece Martires in Cavite, suspended classes for all levels in both public and private schools.

Suspensions in General Santos City and Sarangani are extended until November 24, 2023, as are face-to-face classes in Malolos City.

In Laguna, classes were suspended for all levels in Cabuyao and face-to-face classes were suspended in Calamba City.

Work suspensions were also announced in Northern Samar for public and private sectors, with exemptions for essential government services.

Some classes are also suspended for Thursday, November 23, 2023, in Northern Samar, General Santos City, Sarangani, Calumpit, and Malolos City.
