Severe Tropical Storm Ulysses has intensified with maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h and gustiness of up to 115 kph.

As of Tuesday night, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal no. 2 has been hoisted over Metro Manila, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Albay, Camarines Sur, central and southern portions of Quezon, Camarines Norte, Burias and Ticao Islands, Marinduque, and several other areas in Luzon.

Signal No. 1 is raised over other parts of Luzon and Visayas.

The storm was last spotted 250 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes.

PAGASA forecasts Ulysses to make landfall at or near its peak intensity in Bicol on Wednesday afternoon or evening, or possibly in Quezon early Thursday morning.

Ulysses may rapidly intensify further into a typhoon by Wednesday morning, with peak intensity seen to be 130 to 155 km/h by Wednesday afternoon or evening.
