The storm was last spotted 250 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes.

PAGASA forecasts Ulysses to make landfall at or near its peak intensity in Bicol on Wednesday afternoon or evening, or possibly in Quezon early Thursday morning.

Ulysses may rapidly intensify further into a typhoon by Wednesday morning, with peak intensity seen to be 130 to 155 km/h by Wednesday afternoon or evening.
